Are these really bringing $800 now?

I wouldn't pay that much, but they seems to go for $500 on a regular basis.

:yikes: $500??? I picked one up at an estate sale not too long ago - never thought they were worth anywhere near that.

I picked up a Delco branded version in the wood case for $50 last month. Maybe he's open to offers...

$800 is way, way too much, while $500 is merely way too much. About $200 for an unrestored set seems about right, although I'm sure they go for less than that quite often. $300 with extra CRT if the extra is known to be very good (tested).

Good grief, not an $800 TV by a long, long shot. I bought a metal-cased T-54 for $80 at last year's ETF convention. I paid more for my 505 (same TV in wooden cabinet), but that was nicer. Last year a guy gave me a 514 (same TV in ugly leatherette cabinet) for the price of shipping.

At that price, it can sit there til it gets rust holes... And it's only 10 miles from me right now.

I don't usually comment on values of TVs, but in this case, I have bought and sold enough T-54s from 1980-a year or so ago, that I'd say $200 is a more than fair price for that one with spare tube. I wouldn't pay that, because I don't need it, but I wouldn't want to see a newer collector get hooked into paying $800 for one that appears to be missing things, and been messed around with.
