your basic mid 50's upright console B&W RCA. I was hoping for a CTC-5.

He also has some nice stereo gear, looks like a fisher 800 built into custom cabinet.

just got off the phone, decent guy. told him he would prob be better off selling the Fisher out of the cabinet.

Guess he doesn't realize that hyperbole can scare buyers away.

yea, that's true. I was worried it was a scam, turned out to be a decent guy.

I told him the prob with the TV is the shipping cost makes it a local thing, and without know the condition of the CRT its really a gamble for a buyer.

The Fisher 800b on the other hand is pretty easy to sell on Ebay, if he is willing to do the work of pulling it from the big cabinet (dual reel to reel setup custom build, did not look like a Stock Fisher console), and is willing to accept the possilble hassle of shipping and damage in shipment.

Good to know that he's not the southern side of a northbound horse. Probably just trying to generate a sale. Nice rca, '53-'54.

I suspect that a large number of people outside of the hobby really would not have a clue about TV manufacturing history. His grandparents might have had one of the first sets in town, and the story got somewhat confused over the years. :scratch2:

Ain't that the truth. I tell "civilians" stories about the early days of TV & stuff, & most of 'em look at me like they don't believe. TV's ALWAYS been here, right, just like sail fones & the Internet ?!?....
