I'll have to take pictures later. I've had this radi for a number of years, and, never got it finnished. Today, I finally got repairs done, and, tried the set on the bench. It plays great! :D
I like this set because of its' neat Art Deco styling. It's about a 1938 model console. It is an exact replacement for my Polish Grandfathers' radio.
Don't even go there on how much I have in it. I will just say I'm thrilled that it finally works.... I have to play it on bench awhile, and, do minor tuning. Then, I have to do a jury up of am loop antenna, as the original cardboard barrel dis-intergrated.
Speaker is an exact GE 14" frame, 12" cone replacement I had in stock. I had to patch ripped cone, and, polish corosion off, but, speaker plays great. Original spkr. voice coil is frozen.
When I get it back together, and, cleaned up, I'll show completed pictures, and, may do video on you tube.
I am so happy!!!! :D

Just tried a different set of output tubes in it. Originals are a little weak. Others check much better merit. Radio appears to be louder, and, more bassy.
Turned cabinet around to look at antenna mounting. Should be able to mount it, somehow.
I'm going to do minor tunning out of cabinet, then, re tune touch up when it's together.....
Maybe finnished in a couple of days.

That's a great looking radio. Look at that deeeep chassis probably easy to work on inside? And big speaker: bet it sounds great.

Actually, the cone is 12", but, on a 14" frame, it makes it look gigantic!
The radio has a very deep bass, and, sounds really good.... I have scratches to touch up, and, more tuning to do, but, GE made it clear that MUST be done in the cabinet! They were right. I tried a minor tunning on bench, and, now, together, it's messed up.... It may not be that selective, but, I have worse.
For nyone interested, on side pictures, on top of filing cabinet, that maroon colored thing is my 1946 Belmont 78 rpm r p.
Notice the Stromberg Carlson 16" tv, and, you can barely make out two of my Edison cylinder phonographs I dearly love.
Chassis on GE is large, but, because all the major wiring is right along the back edge, it's crowded. Alot of chassis is empty.
They took some shortcuts on this set, but, as a whole, I like the sound, and, love the art deco case.

Holy smokes, Bill. I gotta admit, that looks great, and I'll bet it sounds it, too. I'd love to have room for something similar in my house again. I miss my grandmother's Admiral.

Thanks, Ovenmaster. Long time no see. Glad to see you!
On a related issue.... I connected a 45 rpm RCA Victor deck to radio last night for a sound test. I was a little dissappointed, and, today, took it apart on the bench.
I did minor mechanism repairs, and, added a disc cap to cartridge for better quality sound.

Put machine back together, and, brought it in living room.
Plugged it into radio, and, outlet strip. Radio wasn't on.
I turned on deck, then, "POW!" Mad a loud ac pop.
I shut it off, turned off power strip, and, un plugged everything.
I thought it was the capacitor because the flash came from that area.
The only way it would do that is if both pieces had extreme leakage, or, short to chassis.
However, upon taking apart d4eck, I quickly found the culprit....
These decks have a 3 terminal switch. Two for switch, and, third a dummy for other side of line. Their built in amp players have the same set up.
Well, center terminal with other line cord wire connected to other motor wire had gotten loose. It rocked against other terminal with other motor wire.
That caused a loud pop, and, burned that end of the power cord nearly off.
I'm dumping that terminal, and, putting in a wire nut.
That sucker scared the cahootys out of me......
Anybody having these, or, other name brand 45 players that run off ac line, I highly reccommend you check for a loose terminal on switch.
This is dangerous, and, could be a fire hazzard.

Well, except for a couple of minor bugs, radio is finnished, and, playing very well.
I did some touch up work on top, and, was able to slightly fade dark stains.
I put extra coats of lacquer on that, and, some scratches.
Radio looks nicer, and, plays very well with deep bass.
Success!!!!
