This 1956 Admiral seems to be a neverending series of problems.:sigh: At least it's coming along.I did have it playing beautifully all day despite the problems yesterday. I regret not getting screen shots since there was an all day "I Love Lucy" marathon on the Hallmark channel yesterday. I'll get some I promise.

The integrator was built and the vertical syncs nicely. The horizontal current being out of whack was my fault. Wired the screen bypass cap to a blank adjacent terminal instead of ground. feel pretty dumb for that.

The no. 1 problem is ticking noises coming from the HV cup. Need to find one of those. Can't see where it's breaking down. I don't think it's the wire. it didn't do it before but I guess I got more high voltage now that the horizontal drive and current is good.I tried putting a GE 1G3 in there which doesn't have as bright a filament or so I could get it darker in that area but still couldn't see any corona or arcing with all the lights off and brightness turned down. The RCA tube practically lights up that area.

It did it less with the 1G3 though. Maybe because it's a newer style tube that sits lower and the connecting wires going to the pins aren't in line with the chassis ground like the old one maybe?

The other problem is the vertical jumps slightly every once in a while whenever it feels like it.Doesn't matter whether it's on a show or commercial. The scene can be unchanging and you will see it just jump up and down slightly.
