It looks like a Mitsubishi emblem. It's odd, because I once noticed what looked like a tube radio in the background of a show on Nickelodeon called iCarly and that radio also had a symbol like this on it. I think that's a Singer TV, made by Mitsu? jr_tech 09-10-2010, 09:01 PM Mine (a model TV 6U with UHF tuner underneath) is badged "Singer"... and says on the back "Made in Japan for the Singer Company". It does not indicate the actual manufacturer. It does not have the Mitsubishi emblem on the handle. Cute little set! jr peterke1 09-10-2010, 09:47 PM The center burn makes it appear to be a radar CRT since tubes seeing service in PPI scopes often had burns at the origin of the scan. At least three possibilities exist for 7" round, 70-degree, 9-pin, aluminized tubes. First the 7AQP-. While I don't have a Sylvania data sheet for it, it was MIL-spec'd and Sylvania was known for second-sourcing I&M CRTs. The second one is the very similar 7AUP- made by Sylvania. Third, Sylvania made many custom CRTs, some of which were minor variations of existing EIA registered devices. I feel the 7AUP- is the most likely of the options. Peter Keller |
