That looks like everyone's livingroom in the late 60s.... And Grandpa is probably a WW I veteran. Gold draperies and green carpeting, and green/gold flowers on the couch. Thank Goodness it's 2010, and I only have to see that in photographs! (Except of course I'd like to see the new-in-the-box Zenith TV in my house, LOL)...

Ironically enough, I actually grew up in an RCA household. The only Zenith thing we had when I was a kid was a 1974 Zenith wedge that my dad bought new.

This is a cool old photo though. By the time I was that kids age, Zenith had those cheap b/w portables and system 3's(yuck). I'm going to guess its Christmas 1969 as the model number on the side of the box is "A1519Z" which would be a 1970 model.

That's my kind of living room though! Im not a big fan of interior design past about 1973 when all that medditeranian junk started making its appearance at.

I don't have that TV...but I do have that box! Up in the attic with a spare 23v tube stored in it.

Wow. We had one of those 19" B&W Zeniths as our family TV when I was in grade school (up 'til 1973).

Apparently you don't go to antique flea markets - happens all the time.

It was also the basis for a great Monty Python animated short.

I looked at some great ones at the flea market Saturday, a big box from the 20s, people posing with their cars, some large church rallies, etc. Most of them were glued into a large album which was falling apart. I didn't ask how much-it was obvious from some scenes that they weren't taken locally, which greatly reduced there interest to me.

I've got a big Telefunken console stereo that came with the paperwork and there was a B&W picture of the proud owners standing in front of it.

I see these old photos at antique mails and flea markets all the time and they really make me sad. Some one died and any remaining family did not want the photos.

On the other hand, they're great for history buffs, especially for particular events like world's fairs, where the official pictures miss a lot of details that amateurs captured.
