View Full Version : Tubey looking Sears color set @ estate sale miniman82 07-30-2010, 01:35 PM http://pictures.estatesales.net/5411/118362/1568111.jpg In Northbrook: http://www.estatesales.net/estate-sales/118362.aspx freakaftr8 07-30-2010, 01:50 PM Wow!! That's a rare one! Looks like one of those Japanese Hitachi's rebranded. ctc17 07-30-2010, 02:42 PM I have a Packard Bell rebrand that looks exactly like that. Its an all tube matsushita, packed with tubes and their not compactrons. Eric H 07-30-2010, 04:25 PM I had a Sears almost like that about 10 years ago, it had a bad CRT and finally got tossed. It was Japanese, Toshiba possibly? zenithfan1 07-30-2010, 08:23 PM I wonder if it's still there? I'd like to have it. Trance88 07-30-2010, 09:24 PM Man, that house this TV comes from is full of old high classy looking expensive, or maybe expensive at one time stuff. Eric H 07-30-2010, 09:41 PM There's an 8-Track! http://pictures.estatesales.net/5411/118362/1568102.jpg?lm=940 A Members Only Atari jacket, that's gotta be collectible to someone! http://pictures.estatesales.net/5411/118362/1650226.jpg?lm=957 A Vintage Kenmore Microwave. http://pictures.estatesales.net/5411/118362/1568162.jpg?lm=957 ctc17 07-30-2010, 09:46 PM Its also interesting how everything always looks so bland at estate sales. White, light blue, gold, silver. Its like when people get towards their end of life they go into bland hospital color mode. Like a severely faded color crt. When I get old im going to paint my house dark red, green and black with bright blue carpet. That jacked would easily bring 250 on ebay. Sandy G 07-31-2010, 06:50 AM I'd be all over that l'il color set like white on rice... radiotvnut 07-31-2010, 11:19 AM That 8-track stereo looks like an old Arvin unit that was my first stereo. It was a hand-me-down from some older family members and I used it from around '83-'90. ctc17 07-31-2010, 03:32 PM Advance multi-track tape cartridge system.....NOT 8-track. bgadow 07-31-2010, 10:54 PM I have one of those Sears sets, picked it up in a trade. I am pretty sure mine is a Toshiba but it's been awhile since I've played with it. An okay set, but the picture leaves a lot to be desired. I also have a pair of Airline color portables that age (Taiwanese Admirals) and they are the same way. Pincushion issues and poor color. But, saying that, I'd rescue the one at this sale in a heartbeat! kx250rider 08-01-2010, 10:14 AM The Sears color set may be a Sanyo. Not sure, but I think most of the smaller ones from the later 60s were Sanyos. But as well it could be a Toshiba... You can decode the mfr by the 1st 3 digits of the Sears catalogue number, if I'm correct. Charles dieseljeep 08-01-2010, 11:29 AM I don't think to many of those things servived. They were such dogs. Low voltage focus CRT,s. Toshiba built. sears source 562. drh4683 08-01-2010, 01:09 PM I was able to save this set yesterday morning as it was on my estate sale list. I posted some pics of this set on the estate sales thread. freakaftr8 08-02-2010, 11:18 AM Right on Doug! Does she still work? |
