Hi,

here is a rare Japanese Tube-type Color TV on Yahoo:

Wish, I could write Japanese language...:scratch2:

A nice Sovjet KVN-49 in good condition is available in Poland (no customs problems):

and in Russia (with customs problems):

Kind regards,
Eckhard

Wow...Both the Polish & Russian sets still work...Well, the Polish one apparently needs a little TLC, but...Look to be RCA 630 clones/double 1st cousins....

Some bought from Romania a "K.V.N."-49. I don't know ih he repaired it. I sow a "K.V.N."-49 at the "Ştefan Procopiu" Technical Museum from Iaşi.

I read somewhere that Soviet sets usually used glass sealed paper-in-oil caps that rarely failed with age. Which would explain why the second KVN-49 is working so well with what appears to be a completely unrestored chassis.

Yes, they use these caps since they reduce the failure rate and there were not many repair shops in the CCCP of these days.
