Of course you are, especially in a nice Limed Oak cabinet.

A woman wrote me about this set she found, I advised her that it was a collectable set and it was possibly worth several hundred dollars, of course until you see it in person, check the tube etc, that's up in the air.

She originally wanted to repurpose it but she would like to sell it now.

She says it's missing the back, looks like the tube is a later replacement and has a cataract, or the neck is snapped off?

If anyone is interested contact me and I'll give you the contact info.

Perhaps if you have a nice empty cabinet that would work for a Fish Tank she might give some consideration to a trade.

Nice CTC-7 "Sanford" model. The Limed Oak is kinda rare. And one of the more attractive, imo, and "compact" CTC-7 models for you space saver collectors.

Looks like a cataract... Clean in the middle & cruddy at the sides. That's the first set I've seen with 6 legs...

I'm pretty sure it's a cataract, that means it's been replaced however.

PUH-LEEZE Be Careful...Don't hurt yrself, or the set...Naturally, the designers of these things just HAD to leave the most delicate part stuck out past the back, just ASKING to be knocked off...

Great looking set, very nice blond cabinet. This would have to be the first 1950s colour set to have a cataract between the safety glass and the CRT as from all the roundie pics I've seen I only see cataracts on the early and mid 60s roundies.

You don't happen to have a relative of Arabic decent who lives in Dearborn, Michigan, do you? Has he volunteered to restore this set for you?

Rare phosphors ?

The bonded faceplate for one, hence the cataract.

Is anyone interested in this set or not?

It apparently is still available?

Very good, glad to hear you were able to make a deal.

The Mini should fit inside the TV. :D

Eric is making a joke of course. But he may not be to far off. The "Sanford" model specs are: Height: 37¼ w/legs attached (remove these before loading). Width:29 1/8" (allow for side knobs). Depth:27 3/8" (may include tube cap). So measure your Mini's rear storage and see if the set will fit either just sliding in or on its non-knob side ect. Take a blanket to protect it from marring the TV or your car. AND be careful of the picture tube. Make sure the Chassis is secure in the cabinet. Take along a buddy to help if needed. Best of luck.

Reminds me of some comedian when I was a kid. He basically had one joke; in this instance he would say:

"In America, TV fit inside car. In Russia, car fit inside TV!"

Sounds like Russian comedian Yakov Smirnoff. Another of his jokes: "In Russia we only had two TV channels. Channel One was propaganda. Channel Two consisted of a KGB officer telling you: Turn back at once to Channel One."

I work in that area (fairfax) and "might" be able to arrange a pickup and ride home.

I dont understand I thought the poster got it and took all the pics?

It would be good to know if the CRT is any good. (other than the cataract of course).

I just received a very nice letter from Irene, (the seller)

The set is available, I suggested she post some pictures of the chassis and tube and such.

She seems like a really nice person and has become interested enough in old sets to do some research and look for more.

She knew the term "Necked" meaning the CRT had a busted neck, however I don't think that's the case here, more likely a cataract.

I told her how to check for that and explained that it could be fixed but not to try it herself because it's dangerous.

I'd love to have it myself to replace my beat up old "Anderson" but it's just too far away.
