Anyone remember the PBS show "Vegetable Soup" that ran from about 1975-1978 ?

For years I've had these weird memories of a very scary show with strangle Pink Floyd like animation. odd songs and kids traveling around in a homemade space capsule. When I described it to friends, they had no idea what I was talking about and assumed I was just merging memories of several shows together.

Oh no, it's all too real! http://nicksagan.blogs.com/nick_sagan_online/2006/05/vegetable_soup.html

The early episodes were especially creepy - puppets with dead eyes and giant 'man hands' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zRcNIqrZ6KI

The puppets improved in later episodes, but just as weird I think: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DRAHcqyex6g

I noticed in my later years warner Bros looney tunes were labeled too physically violent for children, then came nickelodeon which started out pretty normal, then when CBS/MTV got ahold of Nick all the weird cartoons started coming out, the fairly odd parents, and the buggy eyed freak shows they have had on ever since. You can thank the cartoonists from MTV for the ugliest cartoon characters arguing, slapping, obnoxious and killing that warner bros never would have done with daffy duck.

I have heard about it. My brother was into stuff like that making me think it screwed up his subconscious mind. That is another of many examples of how incredible youtube is. I wonder who puts all those forgotten things on there? Would it be the men who are in chrage of or have access to old master tape libraries? Many times great things get pulled off as if soneone who might make money selling them wants to stop it from being viewed for free, like a clip I really liked of Barbara McNair, Joanie Sommers and Frankie Avalon performing a Beatles medley prolly around '64. Many others I have found get pulled off not long after they are posted.
