According to CL ad, RCA model GS 647L found in attic in original box. No affiliation, but thought it was kind of cool... Asking price is high (my opinion) but looks like seller is taking offers.

Wow! NIB RCA that's something we don't see every day! Too bad he guy plugged it in. Prob needs lytics by now. Should have used a variac with the HOT pulled. Oh well someone save it. Kinda a hefty price tag though :(

WOW! It's not often you find a NIB set like that, the price is high but I'd pay $250 for it if they wouldn't come down any further. Why the hell can't stuff like THIS show up around here. *sigh*

Was Sears even selling RCA sets when the CTC39 came out? I am not sure the box and tv go together. Looks like someone bought a new Sears solid state set then put the old RCA in the box. The seller does mention solid state in the add and the 39 was not solid state. OR I could be completely wrong. wouldn't be the first time.

The CTC39 was the last tube type console chassis and was made through '74.

That's what I was thinking. Sears was still selling their own brand sets in '74.

Good eye, I didn't see the Sears on the box until you said something. I looked pretty quick the first time. Now I say it's worth substantially less now.........

I don't think Sears started selling RCA sets until the very late '80's or early '90's; and, I think these were sold under their LXI house brand.

I meant to elaborate earlier that the CTC39 was pretty much the same as a CTC38 with minor revisions. The '39 was around from roughly '71-'74. Years ago, I had a CTC39 in a metal tabletop cabinet from '74 and a '73 model commerical "mural TV" with all the input jacks on the back that used the CTC39 chassis.

It does appear to be in nice condition. Kinda reminds me of the Magnavox sets of the era. As the last of the tube sets I would get it if it was close and the price was right. It deserves to be saved.

I don't think the box is from that TV, either. The box does clearly say "Sears solid state console TV".

And why does the box look smaller then the set. Looking at again after you guys mentioned the sears box. May be just me. I'm tired.

I do however know that when my family got an LXI console in the late 80s the set had no box. Didn't even come with one. Think I remember shrink wrap.
