WORKING, even. That would be worth it for $100, I hope someone picks it up. Think of it as the CT-100 of VCRs.

LV-1901?

I watched Charles and his friend muscle one down a flight of stairs. About 400 pounds. The set I witnessed had a good picture, and I even got to watch a functional CED player connected to it.

It is a cool thing, but I don't really have a desire to own it. Its really for the beta lover.

My wife actually found that ad!!! (And she didn't keep it a secret). It's not mine, but we eMailed on it to see what happens. I don't have a particular need for it, as I already have one, but I won't pass it up (or let it go to the dump). I kind of hope it has the camera in the storage box . No word back from seller yet.

Indeed heavy! It took all of us to get it down and out of Gary's place. If I get this one too, I'll have to get a video of me hauling it out of wherever it is, and into the truck alone, with one arm in a bandage & brace :scratch2:

Got an answer! Said kids were sick, and sorry for late reply. I have a tentative OK to go pick the set up Sunday. She didn't give a phone number, so the ball's still in her court.

Just for the record, I don't need to keep the set, and I'm only picking it up to save it, and possibly, POSSIBLY hoping to find the ever-elusive B&W camera accessory in the compartment! I also don't have the owners manual to mine, so that would be a nice thing to get. This set will eventually be available to another collector, and I don't intend to make any money on it. If it has a better pedestal base, I might swap mine.

FLAKE! No call, no eMail all day Sunday. She never gave me any phone number. I still will go rescue the set, if she ever calls or eMails. But I have a busy week, so not sure when I'll have a chance.

People brush you off all the time around here on Craigslist. Its like since they cant actually see you, you dont exist. Its happened several times to me...

But, it happens both ways. I've had several people not show up too!

Sucks.

BUT I have gotten some really nice things from the people that complete the deals, too!!

No word, no reply, no nothing. No problem, as my only mission was to rescue it. I sent one final polite eMail yesterday, but don't expect to hear anything. Most likely, a know-it-all friend told her that it's worth $10,000, and she'd do well to get rid of any buyers for now, and put it on eBay in a month and rake in the dough as millionaire collectors and museums in Europe run the bids up. If it goes that way, I'll still get it for $10, but she'll be out $2 in eBay fees.

I think it would be funny if she put it on ebay and only got $10.

And, I am so damned sick and tired of trying to buy stuff from people only to hear, "$20, I wouldn't even consider that. I was told that these were highly collectable and that I can get big money if I sell them on ebay". I don't even try to reason with these folks. I just tell them to go ahead and list it on ebay and then I walk away.
