View Full Version : CTC-5 $200 Denver craigslist Phil Nelson 02-23-2010, 12:19 AM http://denver.craigslist.org/atq/1613131798.html Phil NewVista 02-23-2010, 12:45 AM Nice 'Whitby' Deluxe :thmbsp: kx250rider 02-23-2010, 10:15 AM Oh boy; if that were a little closer! That's my favorite CTC-5, and I've never owned that cabinet. Charles Phil Nelson 02-23-2010, 11:43 AM If it were local, I'd already be on my way with a rent-a-van, but that's a 3,000 mile round trip over mountains. More than my rear end could stand. Are those books sitting on top of the cabinet? Phil Nelson stromberg67 02-23-2010, 03:56 PM That sure is pretty! Love to dive in to that chassis and restore it. Kevin Sandy G 02-23-2010, 05:17 PM I'd give my EYETEETH...But Denver...Damthing may as well be on the far side of th' bleedin' Moon...(sigh) rca2000 02-23-2010, 06:08 PM I know what you mean. I am getting ready to go and get my set, probably Thursday or Friday. It is not NEARLY as nice as this one--but it is a 5--and I have wanted one for over 30 years. I too would like this one--but like you--WAAAYYYY too far away!! Hopefully, one of "us" will grab, and save it!! John Marinello 02-23-2010, 07:29 PM It's on the 'Bay, BIN $699: http://cgi.ebay.com/RCA-color-television-Collectible-Tube-Television_W0QQitemZ130369701619QQcmdZViewItemQQpt ZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item1e5aa3c6f3 Phil Nelson 02-23-2010, 08:27 PM I am not seeing a BIN price in the eBay listing. The craigslist ad still says $200. Phil Eric H 02-24-2010, 01:07 AM The BIN went away because someone bid. I have a feeling they'll be wishing they paid the $699 before this auction ends. miniman82 02-24-2010, 05:37 PM Fully functional? wow... TubeType 02-25-2010, 09:32 AM Yesterday, the $200 listing on CraigsList changed to: This posting has been deleted by its author. (The title on the listings page will be removed in just a few minutes.) The 'Bay listing is still active and is currently at $110 with seven bidders and five days left to go. How high will it go? Best wishes, Sandy G 02-25-2010, 10:15 AM I dunno, but dollar to a donut sez you can prolly add a "zero" on the end of what it currently is... andy 02-25-2010, 10:32 AM ... Sandy G 02-25-2010, 10:55 AM Too far away, anyway... No kiddin'...Has'n fras'n dirty ras'n...Mumble, mutter, grumble (Best Yosemite Sam imitation here) Phil Nelson 02-25-2010, 11:52 AM I'm glad to see there's some interest. That's why I mentioned the listing in the first place. It's a set worth preserving. I'd rather see another collector get it than have it end up as a fishtank in some Denver hair salon. Phil Nelson NewVista 03-02-2010, 09:28 AM Bidding weak (economy + remote Denver location) rca2000 03-02-2010, 06:51 PM Something like that, I guess. First, I get my CTC-5D for under $200. I have seen MUCH worse examples of 5's sell, in the last 5 years or so, for MORE than 1K!! In particular--a table--model "special" sold on the bay about 4 years or so ago--not in great physical shape and with a DEAD tube--and it sold for over $1000!! Mine is a console, and it went for MUCH less--with an unknown tube. Then tonight..a VERY nice, deluxe,5.. in a NICE cabinet with a GOOD tube-- sells for $712. It was worth DOUBLE that!! Either the economy...or interest in pre-1960 color sets has died out. At the very least...it allowed me to finally join the "5 club"!! I now have a pre-1960's color set myself...after waiting since 1979. |
