Kinda surprising to me how many orphan stands are out there. I know a junque lady locally who must have a dozen at least, sitting out back in the weather.

Shouldn't here be a generator attached to the treadle?

I have inherited this same Singer sewing machine from my grandma, these date back from the early 1900s i think, the gears were machined from solid brass and lasted forever.

Anyway, the treadle wheel drove the sewing machine via a long leather belt.

Speaking of the sewing machine and supplies industry, they are marketing the ability they give consumers to make customized clothes. As regular clothes are made in the 3rd world and it costs more to try to make them yourselves today. Sounds like why TV repair shops no longer exist, don't it...
