The chassis number stamped on my tv is smeared a bit, I believe it is
CTC15ABRVB274, but the sams site does not recognize that. It however does recogonize my model number of 14G896MU. Am I good to order the Sams for this set by the model number? Always used the chassis number on other sets.

The chassis # is CTC15AB. The RVB274 is not part of the chassis number. RVB I believe stands for RCA Victor Bloomington (the plant that the set was made in) and 274 is the EIA manufacturer code for RCA.

CTC15AB and your model number both refer to the same Sams set - 673-2.
