I'm thinking about getting the 52" XBR 9. Anybody familiar with this TV? According to what I've seen (and what I've read), the picture isn't quite up to the Samsung 750, but the reflective screen on that model will be a problem. Same with plasmas, which all seem to have shiny screens. And I don't see enough difference with LED backlighting to justify the price. I've had good luck with Sony products in the past, but I just wonder if anyone has any hands-on experience with this TV.

I just bought a 40" XBR9 a couple weeks ago from BB at an incredible price ($1,699) and so far I'm not complaining. The XBR just won the WAF award since the surrounding screen frame is minimal and the dull screen surface tends to let the unit not be a flashy when it's not turned on.
The Sony does have a widgets feature that may give me enough reason get my house set up for Wi-Fi just to play with it.
One thing I did have to do was set up the delayed audio output coming from my DVD player (Mac MVP871) to about 30ms so it would sync up with the video.
I will admit I didn't do THAT much comparing of brands. Only the different series' within Sony (S, V, Z & XBR).
FWIW and not like this can apply here, but we just got rid our 11-year old Samsung 25" CRT tabletop set and didn't have a bit of trouble with it. I think we only paid about for it $200 back then.
