Just picked this one up today. Its a Westinghouse Stratovision 23 inch B/W consolette. I found a date stamp on the inside of the cabinet for May 9, 1961 and a hang tag where the crt was replaced with a new RCA in 1964. The model number is H-K3811. It works as found but has sync problems so i'm going to go through it. This is probably one of the newest sets i have besides the modern stuff. This one has a weird looking tuner on it that is round and looks like a spray paint can lid with two tubes sticking out. Its in overall nice condition and should clean up well. What do you guy's think of one this new?

I really like those 23" b/w sets. I have two 23" Zeniths (1961 and 1970) and use them all the time. Even though they're newer, I think they may actually be rarer than their older 21" 1950s counterparts.

If anyone has a Sam's for this one i could buy, let me know. Re-cap should be straight forward but it also has a few of the couplates installed that I will need values for if needed. The main problem with it is that it has weak to no horizontal and vertical sync. Also the left side of the screen is darker than the right and theres very little brightness control. CRT tests good so that wont be a problem. Audio and video circuits work perfect.

That's a cool looking set! Nice score.

Very nice.
Those b/w uprights are my favorite style of console television.
Unfortunately the only one I have in my collection right now is that 50 Philco with the 16" round tube and doors, and it needs a complete electrical restoration.
Have 2 low boy consoles, both in wheat finish, and would really like to add a RCA upright in mahogany to go with them. Hell, I'd trade that beat up old CTC-7b I picked up to get a nice specimen.
