This is neat, looks like it's a wired remote for a Sentinel TV, anyone know what model?

It looks more like an external tuner.

I think it's an early remote. Has brightness and volume, which they wouldn't put on a substituner. Probably a rare accessory for bedroom use, or disability aid. Wired remotes go back as far as 1949 with the RCA 9PC41 projection set.

I know someone with a set like that, I helped them get it. Good God are those heavy. Very cool sets though and man, the goodies inside will keep you busy for a long while when restoring it.
I have a Sentinel set from 1953, I should check to see if there is any mention of a remote on the tags or chassis. Probably not but worth a look.

Agreed. I have a model 430 and it's easily the heaviest set in my collection. There's no mention of a remote in the Sams or on the chassis.

The RCA projection sets don't hold a candle to the GE 901 projection set for weight... The RCAs can be moved by one guy, but when I bought my 901, it took the QB of the Chatsworth High School football team, plus myself, and the seller's wife to get the thing out of the house where it was!

Back (but not really) on topic, I bet the remote was a RARE option on that 9-PC-41. I've seen 5 or 6 of the sets, and only one remote.

My friend's RCA set has the remote, it is about the size of a table radio with a long braided cloth covered cord. Very neat set. I can't wait until he restores it.

I didn't know it had a remote... But I'm not surprised. I've only ever seen one Berkshire, and it was buried in a garage and I couldn't get a great look at it. What functions were on the remote, if you know? I think the 9-PC-41 had volume & brightness, if I recall. Didn't the Berkshire have a big, fancy radio like the TRK-12 with motorized dial?

What a behemoth! And a beauty too. Reminds me of the huge Capehart hi-fi consoles from the late 30s and early postwar era. Those had a similar construction of the radio and amp (mil-spec; with either four 2A3s or two 6L6s).
