View Full Version : Walk the Line on CBS tonight
lha1992 05-30-2009, 01:10 AM Did anybody have the chance to see the movie Walk the Line about Johnny Cash and his wife June Carter tonight on CBS?
I watched it and its a pretty good movie. Showing how he started out and how he recovered from his drug addiction and everything.
Sir.Byrd 05-30-2009, 01:36 AM I've seen it before, great movie.
lha1992 05-30-2009, 02:53 AM Yes it is a great movie about the MAN IN BLACK,
ducati_EL34 05-30-2009, 09:56 AM I saw it on DVD. It is a great movie. How bad did CBS butcher it, in order to fit all the commercials in?
<RANT MODE = on>This is another reason I hate network TV and cable/dish. It is NBA Finals week and NOTHING is on! The showing of this movie is another example of lack of fresh content.<RANT MODE = off>
hypertone 06-01-2009, 08:12 PM It looked like a great movie. I watched what I could, but my wife is a remote hog. :(
wilkes85 06-01-2009, 11:19 PM Oh that movie is AWESOME! I taped it from the movie channel when it was on a while ago. Geez, now I'm gonna go watch it! lol
mid-fi-ry 06-01-2009, 11:46 PM Oh God no... go rent Johnny Cash: The Man, His World, His Music if you want to see the real deal.. you'll ruin all the mystique of the guy if you watch that stuff.
Or rent that one Walk Hard, the Dewey Cox story... much better than that bastardized Cash movie or the other piece of crap "Ray" with the guy from "In Living Color" as Ray Charles... ouch!

Yeah, I guess two Oscars for best Actor/Actress show what a crappy movies both Ray and Walk the Line are... :scratch2:
dew.

Possibly. They were crappy pictures. A best actor Oscar isn't indicitive of a good picture, some pretty crappy ones have won that award---Gladiator, Training Day, As Good as it Gets, Forrest Gump, Scent of a Woman, Rain Man, Color of Money, Judgment at Nuremberg, Kramer vs. Kramer, Charly, Watch on the Rhine, High Noon......

These were crappy movies, based on your opinion. I like almost half of the movies you just mentioned.
Now as far as oscars go, well they are chosen by people in the industry. You are right though, they are not indicative of a good movie. There is even some campaigning involved. Crash was heavily promoted for oscar consideration, and it won.

Yes, my opinion.
By the way, I too like some of the pictures I mentioned. But I also realize they're crappy, know what I mean?

dew.I thoroughly enjoyed both of these movies. Jamie Foxx is a talented individual. :thmbsp:

Yes, but, what is crappy about, "As Good As it Gets"?
Fisherdude 06-03-2009, 09:02 AM I think the core disagreements here center on the fact that "good", "entertaining", and "Oscar winner" are not synonymous.
eteller 06-04-2009, 12:04 PM All I know is I HATE country music, but Johnny and that movie rocks.
