Hey all-

Got this set over the weekend. It's a '60s Admiral chassis 16L3B black and white set. VHF-only, all tubed. Built well, in Chicago.

I'm guessing this is about a 1962 or so. Works damn well considering all the caps are originals.

Had the CRT out before since there was dust and dirt in between the safety glass and CRT face.

What do you think?

I've always liked the admiral portables for styling and good build. Now if I could only just find one of the late 60s or early 70s portable tube color sets.

Yeah I also have a '66 19 inch b&w Admiral and while they are both built well, this 16" is definitely heavier than the '66 19 incher. What a different a few years makes in build...the '66 is an all plastic cabinet while this one is partially metal.

I have one of these and it also works quite well. I found mine in a alley several years ago. All that's been done to it since I've had it is a good tuner cleaning.
