I didnt really enjoy it. The plot seemed like it was lacking something and every episode was a copy of the next.

Great show. But the final was hackneyed and clearly rushed. I am sorry to see the show go.

Sometimes I'd watch and sometimes I wouldn't, but, lets face it, you could not argue for better acting talent.

I much prefer the British version in general, but particularly in regards to the ending. The original was popular in the UK, and was allowed to run its course there. The ending of the American version makes the UK version seem like MacBeth in comparison. For goodness sakes: "And then they woke up?" My freshman year creative writing class taught us not to resort to that... 27 or 28 years ago.

I have to DVR the episodes of "Life on Mars" due to a schedule conflict, and watch them as time allows. I try not to concentrate on "errors" in that the show is set in 1973. I am sure if I watched each episode several times, I would see these "errors".

On the last episode that I watched (aired 3/18), two of the detectives are on a stakeout. They are in a black van with graphics. The problem is that the van is at least a 1976 or later model, because it has square headlights! In fact, it has 4 square headlights.

Cadillac sold the first cars with square headlights as 1975 models. They were not legal until January 1, 1975 and as a result did not go on sale until 1/1/75.

Obviously the van could not have been equipped this way in 1973.

Anyone else spot these type of errors?

Totally disagree, the british series had a story arc with a beginning and an end. I thought the ending was perfect

Yes, and I liked pointing them out to my 17 year old daughter, who liked the show as much as I did.
We both like reading the "goofs" on IMDB about our favorite movies, too.

The final US ep just screened down here. I must say it wasn't too bad, and if I had not seen the UK version I may have liked it more. The US version was a bit of a "no second series, wind it up now" Whears the UK finale was like a good ending to a novel

I was late to the party on the U.S. version...just got into it when it was scheduled for cancellation...there were continuity problems but I still really liked the show...didn't care for the ending but about two weeks before the ending, I saw the British version and REALLY liked the ending there...the U.S. ending pales in comparison...

Yeah, I really enjoyed this show - don't watch much telly but it drew me in like a psychedelic tractor beam. It offered more than your average cop show, reminded me of the movie 13th Floor - ironically also starring Gretchen Mol (corrr..). Shame it ended prematurely.
