I've been following another thread regarding people who still use antennas for tv reception vs. cable/sat. Not wanting to hijack that thread, I'd like to ask for opinions on the particular antenna those of you are using and what are your thoughts.

My reason for the question is basic. I plan to try OTA for both HD and DTV. Currently I'm a subscriber to digital cable and while it's not that bad, it is quite expensive for what I actually watch. The HD channels run the gamut between very good to quite frankly a joke as far as picture quality is concerned.Very compressed looking. I'm hoping to see a major improvement in qaulity with an OTA signal.

I just ordered a Channel Master DTV converter for a spare bedroom that has no cable outlet. Going to try a simple,inexpensive antenna at first to see what I can receive, but eventually, I believe I'd use a larger outdoor type to connect to the HD set and to the spare bedroom set eventually.Since my HD set has no internal HD tuner, an external box is required. Not many choices out there, but I'm leaning toward an LG LST xxxx if I can find one to my liking.

Using the Antennaweb site, my choice is basically the medium to large directional with preamp. There have been several recomendations for antena choices and they are all different.
