It's pretty funny the unrelated things you find when searching the net. Was looking for info on roundies and found this article on a new flavor of chip to allow for a wider color spectrum for plasma/LCD flat screens:

I work as a chip designer. Israel has been in the chip design business for at least 15 years. Many major players, Intel included, have design centers there. This does not suprise me at all.

In fact, Tower Semiconductor, one of the contract fabrication houses is located in Israel.
