View Full Version : Breaking Bad
markd51 02-27-2009, 10:02 PM Hi All,
Really looking forward to the upcoming second season!
My only gripe with this series, was not enough episodes the first season, and it really left me longing for more.
Mark
hypertone 02-27-2009, 10:15 PM I agree, there was a lack of episodes. I'm glad to see there is a new season coming up. That show is insane. That dude of Malcolm in the Middle plays that character so well, I didn't even know it was him until someone told me.
bolly 02-28-2009, 08:09 AM great show!!
ekmanning5 02-28-2009, 08:11 AM That's one we don't miss.
markd51 03-06-2009, 07:43 PM Breaking Bad Marathon on tonight on A+E! (First Season) Bye, I gotta watch!
bolly 03-06-2009, 07:55 PM ya!! its a great show!! cant wait for the new season to start!
elgato8905 03-06-2009, 08:12 PM Yes... It is a great show and I'll tell you something else about it. It is actually quite realistic as far as the drug part of it is concerned. A lot of the situations they get in to are actually things that happen when your a tweaker. I did that stuff for 15 years (been sober for 10:smoke:...) so you can believe me when I tell you that. It's been one of my favorite shows since the first episode. Brings me back to the good ole days.
f1 fan 03-08-2009, 10:13 PM I live in an area that has folks like this. small town, low income, no job. all they do is exactly like this movie. great show that is real for those in the know.
Eric H 03-09-2009, 03:13 AM I just finished the third episode of the first season and wow, this is a great show.
The whole bathtub incident and the cleanup has to be one of the most incredibly gut wrenching scenes ever! :yuck: :thmbsp:
birddog 03-09-2009, 06:38 AM One of the best shows on TV, if you ask me!
soundmotor 03-09-2009, 07:26 AM Missed it first time around and had whole 1st season DVR'd. Went to watch over the weekend so up to speed for 2nd season opener and everything gone. Drat!
markd51 03-15-2009, 08:32 PM Don't forget kiddies, the second episode of the new season on tonight!!!
Man, the first episode last week was intense! A real nail biter. Tuco's on the warpath! Mark
bolly 03-15-2009, 10:05 PM not anymore he's not!!
bolly 04-12-2009, 10:20 PM wholly f*k!!!!
wtf!!
Eric H 04-14-2009, 01:59 PM Skankity skank, skank, skank.
Well, that'll learn him not to call her that! :lmao:
JimJ[VT] 04-14-2009, 02:00 PM Great show.
elgato8905 04-14-2009, 06:40 PM It really is a great show but the portrayal of meth users is WAY (WAY) over the top. Jesse, Tuco, and all the other tweaker roles are really unbelievable to someone who's actually lived the life. It's quite ridiculous IMHO. It's kind of a shame because the show could follow the story line very easily and be MUCH more compelling if they really tried to show users and killers the way they really are.
totem 04-14-2009, 07:12 PM One of the few shows I try not to miss, love it!

Yes, it would be nice if it was a little more realistic for those who are familiar with they way things really are when you are living that life, but you have to remember that it's just a TV show, and their goal is to get as many asses planted in front of the tube as possible each week, so they have to take a little 'Artistic license' with the characters and the script to get and keep their viewers entertained.
Sure Tuco was over the top, and he would not have lasted on the street for very long like that, but I feel they have done a very good job at creating characters that the average viewer can make a connection with, even if those characters are a compromise or composite of what the show thinks will fascinate it's audience.
Hopefully the show will continue to put out quality episodes without straying too far from the original 'flavor' and formula of the first season's shows, which unfortunately happens far too often with many shows.

Tortuga huh? (Danny Trejo) Jesus! I suppose like "Scarface", Tony Montana was of course over the top, "Meet my Lil Fran" (lol) but interesting of course of a hypothetical life (and death) of a drug lord.
No, of course most tweakers don't usually look like the run down pair who rolled Skinny Pete in a previous episode. Sometimes, they look just like everyday folks, who you'd not so easily suspect. But drug use is a widespread, and huge problem in this state.
I like the fact that the filming looks to be true to location. The show has the feel of what New Mexico is, not only scenery, but typical lifestyle as well for many. After all, I live down here in the land of enchantment, this is what it's basically like down here.
While there are those like Val kilmer, and there are countless people who are millionaires in this state, as well, there's people living out in the boonies like it is 100 years ago, no running water, no electricity, no heat, other than maybe a wood burning stove. Reason why, no money to pay for such things, but amazing how those types always seem to have money for dope, and booze.
And just 90 miles south of me, is the real world, Juarez, where many people's lives have the significance-importance of a cockroach. I've been there a few times, a few years back, but doubtful I'll ever make that trip again in this lifetime. There's no money there, people will do anything for money, and as of late, also will kill you for it as well in a heartbeat. One's chances of survival are probably better in Iraq.
Seing movies like Desperado brought me some similar memories of Juarez. Mark
bolly 04-20-2009, 04:50 AM I missed it!! :(
anywhere on the net to see re-runs??

Check your TV Guide, as I believe they play the week's episode again on tuesday. Mark
bolly 05-14-2009, 12:14 AM STAY OUT OF MY TERRITORY!! :yikes:

radioactive 05-24-2009, 10:18 PM I think she's OD'd!!!! :)
i do believe she did also.
carbonman 05-25-2009, 12:30 AM She's dead as of the end of tonight's episode. Sorry to see her go, but Jesse would never have a chance to get clean if she was in the picture.
phaxda 05-25-2009, 01:54 AM Cool, a thread about my favorite TV show. I thought last week's episode was not that great, but after this one I have learned to have some patience. They set it all up nicely. And because this is an audio site I want to mention that the music is really well-chosen. I loved it tonight when he walked into the bar and "Green Grass and High Tides" was playing. When it's anything but... (Also that song kicks my ass in Rock Band.) Anyway, I drink a few beers while watching so I don't have much poignant to say, but good to see other people love this show. Waiting for Mad Men to come back too. AMC does it up right these days.

Does Walt get Jesse to quit?Apparently,he cares about Jessie? Is that
why Walt came back? Enough that he'd let the girl choke to death.Whew.
I remember at the beginning of this season's earlier episodes,Walt's Pontiac
Aztec was shown with it's windows shot out. Then there are those white sheet-covered bodies.......yo.
Anyone think of using Aztecs for plinking?Yo.
bolly 05-27-2009, 06:40 PM yo! Walt let the biatch choke to death to protect his own ass... that junky woulda ratted him out in no time yo!

More than one reason came into play. Walt does care about Jesse and knew that the girlfriend would eventually literally 'be the death of Jesse' and possibly end up blackmailing Walt just because she could. I think his tears were because he had to let a person die to get Jesse straight and alive. Walt's an ordinary man making extraordinary decisions.

Yeah, but what he's doing is still wrong. I want to see how they eventually work that problem out. Still it is one of the best shows on the tube right now. :thmbsp:
markd51 05-27-2009, 09:13 PM I'm not sure as of yet, but I assume this Sunday is the season finale, not the finale of the entire series?
I'm still wondering "who" are the two covered dead bodies they keep "hinting" at, at the crime scene by Walt's Pool? Time will tell I reckon? Mark
carbonman 05-27-2009, 09:27 PM Yeah, but what he's doing is still wrong. I want to see how they eventually work that problem out. Still it is one of the best shows on the tube right now. :thmbsp:
Walt's no angel anymore, as evidenced by him shaving his head even though the hair is growing back and confronting the 2 would-be meth manufacturers in the hardware store parking lot. He's feeling powerful and growing into a new kind of man.
Squidward 05-27-2009, 10:22 PM So, who do you think does the shooting at Walt's house? They've been building up to it all season. The show is basically over if Walt's alter-ego is blown to his family, wonder how this goes down and gets covered up.

Some wrongs can never be righted. I think in the end that will be the whole point of the show.

Do you think it's a shooting? I've been thinking it was an explosion because of the burned bear & debris floating in the pool?
bolly 05-31-2009, 10:11 PM wtf happened?? who were the 2dead bodies?? wtf is walt??
carbonman 05-31-2009, 10:43 PM The bodies must have come from one of the planes that collided. This is the perfect show about consequences of our actions.
It's Walt's fault because he let Jane Margolis die to save Jesse. Her father Donald lost focus at his job as an ATC and caused 2 planes to collide because he was so messed up over Jane's death.
Next season will just rock!
bolly 06-01-2009, 04:43 AM I didn't realize there was gonna be another season, after that ending there has to be!
birddog 06-01-2009, 05:09 AM Gotta say, I'm not much of a TV fan outside of some science/reality shows, and of course Family Guy, but BB has had me anxiously awaiting for Sunday night to come around since the first episode.
Gonna miss it while awaiting next season!
Think the networks might take notice of this great show, and start making quality shows again?
NAAAHHH!

Something about the look on that guy's face......hmmmmmmmm.
Squidward 06-02-2009, 08:59 AM I wouldn't think that bodies from a plane collision would fit all nice and neat in to bodybags when it was all said and done.
EchoWars 06-06-2009, 09:57 PM Save Walter White (http://www.savewalterwhite.com/) ;)

That's pretty funny:thmbsp:.
qdrone 06-12-2009, 05:45 PM I missed it!! :(
anywhere on the net to see re-runs??
You can view the first 2 episodes of season 2. :thmbsp:
bolly 06-12-2009, 05:47 PM thanks qdrone!!!
I'm jonesin for season 3!!
EchoWars 06-12-2009, 06:42 PM http://free-tvshows.com/
You can watch all of both seasons, but the popups are rather fierce (at least they stop once you're playing the vid).
hypertone 06-13-2009, 12:21 PM The full season 2 is available in a single torrent on tpb.
N2IXK 04-18-2013, 08:32 AM Bumping this one up, as AMC just announced that the final 8 episodes will air starting August 11. :( As if the wait hasn't been long enough already?
Hank's gonna be awful bored sitting on that toilet since September...:)

Now it's August!? If they used some of Walts "Product" they could get it done faster. :D

bandersen 08-12-2013, 08:22 PM I thought that was a pretty good episode last night. Can't wait to see what happens next :)
N2IXK 08-12-2013, 09:11 PM Really thought we would have 2-3 episodes before the big confrontation between Hank and Walt. That was INTENSE!
Gonna be hard waiting till next Sunday!
Eric H 08-13-2013, 07:17 PM It's a great start to the final season.
They only have eight episodes to finish it and they said things are going to happen fast!
I liked what Jesse was tossing out of his car window, can't wait to see the repercussions for that.
bandersen 08-23-2013, 08:23 PM Did anyone see the Mythbuster's Breaking Bad special ? I thought it was cool that Vince Gillian and Jesse stopped by even though the BB science didn't hold up too well ;)
N2IXK 08-24-2013, 04:08 PM Saw the show, but I wished they would have taken on some different myths than they chose.
The improvised RV battery and the scrapyard supermagnet would have been cool to test, but probably not as "visually appealing" as bodies in acid and explosives...
bandersen 09-11-2013, 05:25 PM This could be very entertaining if they do it right.

Eric H 09-22-2013, 03:48 PM "According to the release, the new show will be a one-hour prequel following the evolution of Saul Goodman before he met meth kingpin Walter White'
So Saul could still get "sent to Belize" before Breaking Bad ends. :scratch2:
I doubt it though, who would want to watch knowing his ultimate fate?
N2IXK 09-23-2013, 04:32 PM I can't see Saul getting killed. He's a lawyer, and lawyers have the same survival instincts as a cockroach. :)
Besides, he's busy working at a Cinnabon in Nebraska now...
N2IXK 09-29-2013, 12:37 PM Have had the marathon on all day, and they just got into the beginning of this season. about 7 hours to go until the finale.
Anyone else getting geared up for tonight? Gonna be a wild ride...
bandersen 09-29-2013, 02:25 PM I'm kinda mixed. I'm excited to see how it turns out, but it's also the end of a fantastic series.
