President Obama just passed the bill extending the DTV deadline to June 12:

Makes no difference here - all the broadcast stations are sticking to the original changeover date. I suspect I'll be able to hear the howls all over town Feb 18.

Same here. Just this morning the local morning news team said they were still making the change on 2/18.

Well, I'm finally sick and tired of the whole DTV thing. At first, I was all for the extension of the deadline. But now, after all this talk of it all the time I am just plain sick of it. Just get it over with already. I think it's beaten to death on here and everywhere else. I can't even watch my PAY tv without hearing about it every two seconds, sheesh. Sorry about the rant but it's to the point where I'm taking a break from tvs altogether which is a rare thing for me to do.

Wonder how many analog transmitters are about to crap out, and be too expensive to repair for just a few more months of air time. Many stations probably have skipped routine maintenance lately, figuring that the transmitter would soon be scrapped anyway.

I bet you're right, that would explain all the bad reception issues we've discussed that seem to have no known cause. It has been degrading for me for about the last year.
