View Full Version : remote control roundies
Remote roundies are probably my favorite sets, to me they just seem to strike the right balance between advanced modern technology and good old fashioned quality. Now that I seem to be finding these, I'm curious how many and what models are still around. What do you all have?
My 2: 1960 RCA CTC-10 "Wynnewood", 1964 Zenith 25MC33 SC400 chinese cabinet
zenithfan1 12-13-2008, 10:15 PM Nice sets! My only remote roundie is my Space Command 400 Zenith with the 25LC20QS chassis. It is my avatar. I hope to be finding more soon. There is a possibility a CTC 10 Glendale may come my way in the future, IF all goes well. Keeping my fingers crossed.
old_tv_nut 12-14-2008, 01:48 PM Good thing for your sets that drool doesn't transmit over the internet - very, very nice sets!
jpdylon 12-14-2008, 02:08 PM I'm jealous. That zenith set is simply gorgeous. You'll never find one of those in that condition in a good long while.
You seem to find all the cool stuff!
drh4683 12-14-2008, 02:41 PM Ive got three. A 1961 CTC-11, a '65 space command 400 and a '63 space command 400.
old_tv_nut 12-14-2008, 03:22 PM I have given up trying to not be envious - these sets are just too gorgeous.
Electrohome 12-14-2008, 03:52 PM I have a 1960 RCA CTC-10 Remote color roundie I got in about 1999-2000.

zenithfan1 12-14-2008, 04:20 PM Post a pic! We want to see it!
Electrohome 12-14-2008, 04:49 PM Unfortunataly, I dodn't have a pic, but I can look up the model on Ed Reitan's site and I will forward more info and I can also possible get a pic from Ed Reitan's site on early color TVs made by RCA as well. Will get the details to ya later this evening:-)
julianburke 12-14-2008, 05:21 PM I have a 29JC20 remote with original hand unit.
zenithfan1 12-14-2008, 05:29 PM I have a 29JC20 remote with original hand unit.
Now I'm jealous! I want to see it. I have never seen a 29JC20 Zenith in person before. I saw the brochure once, but never the set. I forget the model name too. Way cool!
nasadowsk 12-14-2008, 06:29 PM I've got a '7 with remote. The novelty wears off after you realize it won't work the cable box ;)
But it's neat with an antenna.
zenithfan1 12-14-2008, 07:05 PM Or basic cable.
rcaman 12-16-2008, 07:14 AM heres my ctc10 in mint condition. works fine.
zenith2134 12-16-2008, 10:07 AM Nice sets!!! The '63 that DRH posted is my favorite so far.
bgadow 12-16-2008, 01:56 PM I guess I've never seen, in person, a remote roundie. I'm always on the lookout, though! rcaman's set is very impressive to me.
radotvguy 12-16-2008, 02:48 PM i like rcamans set the best
phaxda 12-16-2008, 03:00 PM I lurk in these threads a lot because I am interested in old TVs, but do not collect them. I live in a smallish apartment with a wife who is understanding, but not THAT understanding, so am limited to a couple of little portables and my nice 80's Zenith woodgrain set that I use with my Atari systems.
Delurking just to say that these sets are absolutely beautiful and I am so glad people are out there saving them. You guys do great work.
Ive got three. A 1961 CTC-11, a '65 space command 400 and a '63 space command 400.
