Had seen this set at one of the local thrifts recently and stopped in today to see if it was still there. Was priced at $20, but was in good shape, so I lugged it up to the counter and found out it was 50% off.

Haven't done much to it other than a quick greyscale setup; convergence is off quite a bit and the yoke is tilted, but other than that it responded well to initial tweaking.

The label is missing from the back, but there is a duplicate inside which states that its model year is 1973. The delay line is marked '5 July 1972'. Didn't think to write the model number down while I was in there, though.

An aunt and uncle had a similar set when I was growing up; now I just need to find the chrome legs that are supposed to be with it and I'll be set. :)

Nice! those make great bedroom sets.

And RCA called the sets "Roommates" up until the Colortrak portables.....nice find!

Nice find! I hope to find some old 1970's RCAs again. Unfortunately most of the thrift stores I frequent only seem to have 1990's and newer sets.

It's been a dry spell here too, and I expect it'll only get worse after the digital transition. I haven't seen any sets worth messing with in quite a while. The local Goodwill has quit dealing in televisions, and most of the thrifts around here have the same old black plastic sets sitting on the shelves.

This particular thrift store has probably been the best place around here to find TVs - I got this set, my Chromacolor, and a small Sears B/W hybrid there. The local Goodwill was always good for early to mid-80's 13" or so sets, but nothing of major interest except for the 2 Zenith B/W tube portables I found there one night (sitting right next to each other, no less!)

There is a thrift store in Aurora near here which deals in (so I'm told) estate items - they always seem to have interesting furniture and lamps, etc. but the prices on their TVs can be incredibly high. I've only bought one or two from there.
