Here is an RCA roundie with a remote for free in the St. Louis area. I already have one roundie and don't need another. If anyone is interested I could probably grab it and hold it until you can come pick it up.

No cataracts on what looks to be a rare earth phosphor tube too! It doesn't look like a bonded tube either, this one is glossy while most FJPs are frosted. Sure wish I could grab it, lost out on the last RCA that came my way. One of these days......

I hope someone can save this! It's not everyday that free roundies show up on CL (or, anywhere else for that matter)!

I would like to have it, but working in retail this time of year, I don't know when I would be able to pick it up. St. Louis is about a 5 hour drive one way from west TN.

I'd love to have it myself, sadly little to no room for anything right now :(

I think it's a rebuilt 21FJP22 where they put the band in stead of reinstalling the bonded glass. The bonded glass is what gave the old 21FJs the dark green appearance. A lot of them were done with the band in the 80s and 90s. I guess it was cheaper, and they were selling rebuilt 21FJs for $39 at most of the local rebuilders.

I have a roundie in the garage all covered up with the exact same cabinet and it's a CTC-11. Was the lobby set at WTVT in Tampa (now FOX13) way back "in the day". Hope to get it operational again soon--last time I turned it on about 5 years ago it had the wonderful white line across the screen.

I put it in when I first brought the set home in about 1980 or so.

I kinda like those white line sets-it shows a lot of promise, and can only be so hard to fix.

At least when they have a line, that means they also have HV.

Yep, ditto on that, just be careful not to burn your phosphor with the line. Turn the brightness all the way down. Check your service switch for an intermittent. Otherwise probably a simple vertical problem like a failed cap or something. Good luck getting it going.
