was out antiquing with my son and ran into a rca trans vista combo in lancaster.modern cabinet and set was all there.bad cataracts,however,set supposed working?wasnt allowed to plug it up.also,no price.pretty nice looking cabinet and this set does have an appeal.not sure about the chassis numbe,etc.manager was not too pleasant and really didn t want to be bothered.frankly,i didn t feel like talking her into it.if it was a roundie or a early zenith rectangular-she would have got the full pitch!

Hmmm, those are getting rare too.. Nothing worse than a bad transaction eith a seller... Trans Vista I think were the 1969 or 1970 sets utilizing the CTC-40 Chassis. First Solid state set but dont quote me, I think it still uses a HV regulator tube.

Yes, the CTC40 uses an HV rectifier tube. It might also be a CTC44, which I believe is similar to the CTC40 except that it uses a tripler instead of a tube rectifier. And, I hate having to deal with rude sellers! If they act like they don't want to be bothered; then, why are they even trying to sell stuff? It might be worth checking back into. Maybe they will be in a better mood or you can deal with someone else. I hope it does not turn into another one of those "the price is $500 and I'm not coming down" deals.
