This television set is featured on a late 1940's decorating magazine my mom bought before I was born. It was in a New York display by Sylvania demo-ing the "television viewing room of the future", especially showing the use of indirect lighting. Inside the mag the set is showing a test pattern, but of course that could be faked with a back lit transparency. I have just about decided it was a prop but just in case wanted to know if anybody out there has ever seen anything like it. I seem to recall a description somewhere of a "Clear-View" brand that might have had a swivel crt. As I mentioned in another thread I will attempt to build a working replica in the next year or so, probably using a GE 805 chassis for the innards as I have an extra and it does measure out to be a 10" set. This photo, restored after it got wet, is the reason why I collect TV's!
