View Full Version : Now, THAT'S cute! Captain Video 08-04-2008, 10:25 PM Hahahahaahahahaha!!!!!!!! old_tv_nut 08-04-2008, 10:27 PM Hate to think that someone so knowledgable of the hobby (and therefore kept off the streets) would be in prison! Maybe done in atonement for an early offense involving a fish tank? :D Captain Video 08-04-2008, 10:35 PM People who do fishtanking should get jailed for life... wa2ise 08-04-2008, 10:37 PM Maybe someone here had a girlfriend who builds doll houses on the side? Fast_Eddie 08-04-2008, 10:39 PM Man, that's impressive. There is a woman at work who does minitures like this. I'll have to show her this one. REally well done. Elfasto 08-04-2008, 11:00 PM Impressive workmanship. Wish I could see more of this in this day and age. mr_fixer 08-05-2008, 01:08 AM That fellow has some real talent, but it is amazingly creepy, It looks like it could be a beginning of a episode of the twilight zone. where one of the members of the audiokarma forum has a radio room identical to the one in the model. and discovers if anyone moves anything in the doll house, then the same thing happens in his radio room. do de do do do de do do! Captain Video 08-05-2008, 02:49 AM Hey, I REALLY LIKE this idea!!! Something like this could also be featured in a modern show like "The X-Files" , were it still on the air. Arkay 08-05-2008, 11:14 AM :scratch2: The portrait of Dorian Grey, transposed... to become the cabinet of Dr. James McIntosh... or perhaps the locked room in the annexe of the old Manse of the Earl of Atwater... Actually, I think that room is "cute", and very nicely done. Complete right down to tiny tubes inside of one piece! Obviously the maker knows a little about vintage audio and audio repair. This would make a nice Christmas gift for anyone into vintage audio... a decoration for the den (or these days, the "mancave")... NO! I've got it! This is a way to start conditioning a little girl who is into dollhouses, to one day grow up to become the perfect AKer's wife! Stick this room in/on her dollhouse. Years after she has outgrown the dollhouse room, she'll be delighted when she notices hubby is starting to make the real family home resemble her childhood dollhouse! :thmbsp: :D newhallone 08-05-2008, 11:29 AM Genius! Now if I could only time travel. So THAT'S why things have been messed with in my Radio Room...Makes sense now...(grin) Dave S 08-05-2008, 09:05 PM The fellow's name is Walt Buffington. He's a fairly well know auctioneer in antique radio collecting circles and these miniatures seem to be his "thing." Walt attended our Summer Swapmeet last year both as our auctioneer and as vendor of his tchotchkas. There are some photos of Walt and his stuff on the NJARC website. (http://njarc.org/NJARC_2007_Summer_Swapmeet/) old_tv_nut 08-05-2008, 09:08 PM This reminded me of the Thorne miniature rooms at the Art Institute of Chicago: http://www.artic.edu/aic/collections/thorne mr_fixer 08-05-2008, 09:16 PM :s NO! Years after she has outgrown the dollhouse room, she'll be delighted when she notices hubby is starting to make the real family home resemble her childhood dollhouse! :thmbsp: :D That's It! we must teach our young women that it is perfectly normal for their man to have a separate room with their hobbies in it. and it is perfectly normal! this could change everything! No more of "Get rid of this or else!" |
