so is there any option for the mini portable TV's in the new digital world or will they all be junk in 2009. I sure see a BUNCH of them like the Walkmans for sale on CL recently are the ones in the know selling to the unwashed in hopes of not getting stuck with them when the gov turns them to trash?
Anyone making a mini battery powered converter and antenna? not like doubling the weight of a Sony watchman would make it better!

I guess the Grand High Poo-Bahs have decided that we don't need portable TVs anymore...I beg to differ, but I'm just a lowly schlub who actually LIKES TVs & collects them, 'cause I think they're Kewl...But what do I know, questioning the Wisdom of the Almighty Wizards Who Know Better ?!? Just WHO do I think I am, anyways ?!?

Most rf converters run off of a wall wart. You can make a battery compartment, connecting to the rf converter using the same kind of wire and connector as the wall wart it came with.

Came across this:
"One converter box maker, Winegard Co., of Burlington, Iowa, is trying to fill the void. It plans to offer a $20 to $25 battery pack for its two models sometime in August, said Grant Whipple, national sales manager for the company's digital antennas and receivers"
