A lead from a fellow club member resulted in my picking up three more televisions last weekend, including two forties-vintage B&W sets -- and my first roundie! I was told this is a CTC-9, but I haven't verified that yet. Cosmetically it looks to be in nice condition and I'm really happy about that. I am utterly charmed by the fact that it proudly announces "Color" on the front of the set!
It was "free to a good home", but with a hundred and fifty mile trip down to the southern tip of New Jersey for the pickup, it still ended up taking a decent-sized bite out of the budget!
As I mentioned to several folks at the Early Television Convention, although I've been working on TVs since I was a teenager in the sixties, I'm still a little intimidated by the idea of working on color sets. Now I'll have to learn to grok the mysteries of chroma circuits too!
