Got this color set today from a local Tv guy. Never heard of a brand called Montclair. The set is in pretty good shape. Beside the dust and cataract. Any info?

That was made by the Oogotz division of Kremulack Industries in Muckluck, Wisconsin. You have the rarer Phlegmington version with the inverse wave modulated flyback.....that accounts for the spots on the picture tube.

Wow! That cataract should be easy to fix, There is just a little left of the bond at the middle of the screen!
How about a pic of the back?

One wonders why they put the 3 little knobs up on top of the screen & off to one side like they did. Odd. I also wonder what was spilt or dropped on it to make the paint/plating come off the CRT surround like that. I would guess this guy's a fairly early rectangular, though. -Sandy G.

The three knobs at the top are: color, brightness and tint.
Three knobs at the bottom are Horizontal/vertical, Color Fidelity, and contrast/tone. As you can see there a few parts missing. Just thought it was a neat set. The CRT is good!!

Oh, Ok it is an Emerson. I have a nos chassis that might work for that.

It IS a neat set. I wasn't being critical in the least !! Just thinkin' out loud. But now that I know what they are, it makes sense to have those 3 controls upstairs- They'd probly be what you'd adjust most, after the channel.-Sandy G.

AHA! So if it's a Emerson then I bet there was a similarly styled Dumont as well.

note anode connection on side of tube.

You were right it does have the egp22 in it. What model number or chassis so I can get a SAMS for it? Need a flyback, yoke convergence coil, center conv magnet and lateral magnet assembly. Any help out there?

I posted about three messages back that I Have a New old stock Emerson chassis that should work for it.
The picture of it is under the "New 71 Emerson" thread if you want to compare. I know for a fact that it is the exact replacement for my 1967 Dumont.
I lost interest in the set that it was in as the cabinet had a mold smell that would not go away and wanted to use the new crt in my Zenith SC 600.
All that it will need is a 'lytic replaced that would not reform after all those years.
