I'm hoping someone here can help me with this. Years ago I ran across an unusual early tube TV. I passed on it at the time, but I've always wondered what it was. What I recall:

Table-top model
Small, about large suitcase-size
Looked very much like an oscilloscope in design/layout
Metal cabinet
Maybe a row of small buttons?
Possibly from a kit manufacturer like Eico or Heath

Anyone?

I want to say it was much more industrial looking, and sat horizontally.

Hallicrafters pushbutton set ? Too bad you don't still have it, if it was one of those...One of my personal "Objets D'Lust" for a long time...

My memory's a little fuzzy but I think Sandy got it. Looks very familiar. Looking back, I should have dragged it home. The poor thing was in a scrap metal dumpster and had certainly seen better days.

"It was in a Dumpster.." BWAAAAAAHHHH....!!!! On a more serious note, how many of these innocent little guys, Roundies, et al will FINALLY get tossed for good next winter when they "Won't work anymore" as Joe Sixpack believes ?

The Hallicrafter T-54 and also the National NC-TV7 had all-metal cabinets, and I think there were other metal-cased sets at that time. I place my bet that the one you're talking about was the Hallicrafters.
