I was having a browse on the net when I came across "You Tube" video of a new show that will screen this fall on the ABC network in the states.

The Show is US version of the BBC hit show "Life on Mars" this show is about an modern day cop who has an accident & wakes up in the year 1972.

I'm just wondering if there are any of you members that contributed any period electronic equipment from the 60's to early 70's that was used as props in this up coming show.

I have both seasons on DVD & I know what happens in the end.

There is also now the sequel called "Ashes to Ashes" which I also have & it is set in the eighties.

I watched the original 2 Seasons of Life on Mars and the recent "sequel" series Ashes to Ashes (Season 1) - both were quite good and enjoyable - but ... a David Kelly U.S. remake? ... I gotta bad feeling about this!

(Hope its better than the remake of Cracker was ...)

If I found myself back in 1972, I'd be sure to change colleges that I was entering that fall. I was a high school senior graduating in 1972, and ended up at a horrible (at the time at least) college that fall. Steven's Tech as a commuter. They did everything to try to make you flunk out... :thumbsdn:

In many cases I would agree with you, as I enjoy a lot of British TV. (Just finished watching Corrie) However, I tried watching the British version of "The Office" and couldn't stay awake.

Now the US version of The Office has been hit/miss the last couple seasons, but the first season was great (before they tried to broaden the appeal and dumb it down).

I know if I woke up in 1972, I wouldn't give a shit about solving crime! I'd haul ass over to my local Chrysler dealer and buy one of these:

The reverse is also true. Once when I was in England visiting family, I caught a British remake of Married with Children. They used the same scripts word for word with only minor changes to make them sound British (eg. Al drove a Ford Cortina instead of an old Dodge).

What type of cortina was it? In the original version of LOM Gene Hunt drove an Mk3 sedan from dear I say it was an 75' model. In Aust we also had a version of this car except it was called an TD & it came with a choice of an 2 Litre 4cyl or an 4.1 Litre 6cyl (As used in our local Falcons of the time).

That car in LOM was the star of the show & when the show was finished the car went on eBay an sold for 10.000 pounds,
