If you read your vintage TV manuals you would know that this particular television set used Uranium (Atomic number 92) as a power source for the clock. ( Atomic Clock)

Uranium 92 is radioactive and poses a potential health threat.

I'm worried about your health and would be willing to take the set off your hands for what you paid for it.

You could probably get $50 for the antenna, they always seem to be missing on the Predictas.

The other parts of the battle (the skirmishes?) are the flyback and the knobs, all of which can be difficult to find. I hope you have a good flyback, at least.

I just finished restoring a similar model, the Debutante, and it was a lot of fun. I had read horror stories concerning how difficult these sets were to work on and I really didn't find mine all that bad. Yes, you have to remove the main circuit board, and yes, it has 40-45 wires wrapped on it, but it really isn't that bad.

Good luck with your restoration, and don't hesitate to ask questions. There are a lot of experienced people around here.

The clock model is definitely rarer, but the rarest is a red one, with UHF and Directa Remote! Or any one of those three. Motel/hospital models are probably most common (have a cover plate & no antenna rod)

Why are these things ALWAYS missing the back and knobs?

Darn good question! Mine had the back, but it was taped on. Apparently it was too difficult to find screws...:screwy:

And with regards to knobs, mine was, and still is, missing the UHF knob. Would love to find one somewhere.

Well unfortunitly I don't have a crt tester so I have to test it the hard way by getting it working with a raster or better yet some in sync video. The good news is the flyback looks great no signs overheating but the circuit board is nasty with a bunch crud on it.
Funny with all the missing tuner knob stories I'm surpized that no one is making repros of them and the plastic cover for the clock? I think I could fabercate the cover it if I had a photocopy of the channel numbers.
Are the transformer set better preformers than the non transformer set?

Very kewl! I'm leaning toward fixing. I friend gave me digging rights to a large popcorn tin of tv knobs but I don't know to look for. Could someone post a pic of the knob I'm in need of?

ps Good friend also gave me the Sam's for it. He's not a tv but a great guy none the less!!!

I pulled the chaiss out and took afew pics. I think it's going to require a new fuseable link and yes that is a dog bone inside the cabinet! Just want to clean it up a bit before it gets line and waits it's turn.
