Hi all, I have an Admiral TV that I always wanted to fix, tyhe original problkem was only with the Vertical Pot. who was broken but it was lost for about 15 years. There is lot of number attached to teh TV but I have not luck to find any info related to my TV. These are some numbers that refers to the TV:
On populated Board: S459-16, 714C459-10; A8845-11
Under tehh PCB: AD-T; F459-T
On the chasis: 15D4238-1
There is a diagram that points : 40A505-340(D)
Also, on teh back pannel of the TV there is this number that say "For servicing and Parts use the next number: 43D706-1E.
It looks like is amazing not to find anything for this TV. I already check with Nostalgia, SAMS and other pages with not luck. I will appreciate any response to my request, I hope this migth help someelse with teh same situation. Thanks to All of You. Regards

Are you looking for one of the controls in the vertical section? If you could post a photo or even a rough drawing that would be great. If not that, is the vertical section tube or solid state? If a tube, what is the vertical output tube number? I have many very old Photofact schematics that I can look through and might be able to help you once I have a little more information.

I finally took the time to look through a stack of old Admiral papers I have. I didn't accomplish much. Out of those numbers the 15D4238-1 seems most likely but I can't find it anywhere either. I can get no closer than the many variants of a 15K chassis. Have you seen a schematic for that set? Its in Sams 1267. (I have several copies of the factory schematic, which isn't much special) This is from '72. Good luck!

But I have one question : How did you came with that number Sams 1267 because I visited the Samswebsite page without not luck.
Is it possible to see the squematic you say (Sams 1267) from that website just to see if it is close to my TV?
Let me tell you that my TV has a schematic were all the Tubes are placed and numbered, perhaps I can make a comparison with Sams 1267?.

I have not been to the Sams website so I am not sure how it is layed out. I looked the number up in a paper Sams index I have from 1986. I am not sure if it is right but its the closest number I could find. I don't think you can get any kind of schematic online; Sams will sell you a copy, or you could try and find one at a library or a local tv shop. I have a number of duplicate Sams but I checked and don't have that one. You may also find someone on this site willing to sell you a copy.If you are really stumped I could mail you a copy of the factory sheet, though it wouldn't be as helpful to you as the photofacts.

Your mystery schematic seems to be Sams 1396-1…and it is not that Sams 1267 folder number that you were trying to reference to …a chroma console…(but I’ll just guess that you might go for that type of an upgrade !) .
The units Vert hold pot sticks out at the bottom center rear of the cabinet, while the Horizontal hold is further over to the right and is a moving core inside of a coil /variable inductance adjustment ..not a pot. If the only thing you are getting is a white line across the picture tube hopefully it is just the vert pot that is broken/cracked/kaput. None of your provided I.D. numbers were valid on the actual chassis or model number for any Admiral that I am familiar with.. The units Vert hold pot is a 1 meg unit with a PROTRUDING plastic shaft (read as fragile)and the controls on either side of it are Vert Ht pot at 5 meg and the Vert Lin pot at 500k..Somehow I just feel that they might be in a triple cluster all enclosed within one housing as made by Centralab/CTS and that were so popular back at that time. So that would call for a replacement of the Vert hold pot/section with a linear 1 meg single pot with the mechanical mounting/interfacing aspect left up to your able and sheer ingenuity. I made a copy of the first and last page of the Admirals schematic. I can get it to you if you will contact me at the E-mail addee at the end and we can avoid any specifically irrelated TV “clutter” off this forum .
