Hollywood came to small town Wisconsin late last month. All of Columbus, Wisconsin was star-struck by the arrival of Johnny Depp and to a lesser extent, director Michael Mann. The entire downtown was transformed into the town of Greencastle, Indiana, the sight of a 1930's bank robbery by John Dillinger and his gang. The movie is set for a July 1 2009 release. That is pretty cool. I love how Hollywood can transform a town. Coppola did the same thing in Downtown Oakland, California. He made Broadway into 1940's Chicago for 'Tucker'. One example is an old abandoned storefront became a radio and TV shop, filled with radios, tubes, TV signs, vintage lighting. Down to the smallest detail. Probably ended up in a background for a couple of seconds.
Thanks for posting that.

They are supposed to start shooting sometime this week in my town Aurora, Il.
The old Paramount Theatre in town is supposed to double as the biograph where Dillenger took his last steps. (( supposedly ))
I hope this movie does better than the last major movie filmed in Aurora did...
