Sad news for old movie fans. Richard Widmark, who made a career in playing psychopaths, and in Westerns has died at 93.

Has anybody seen "Kiss of Death?" He's the laughing killer who ties an old lady to her wheelchair and throws her down a flight of stairs. The model for all depraved movie gangsters.

One of my all-time favorites. The Bedford Incident along with the mentioned Judgement at Nuremberg, Halls of Montezuma, and Kiss of Death were absolutely fantastic films. No one could play the intense slow burn that he could and or dominate a scene regardless of his co-stars. I'm very glad to have seen hs work.

I thought he was kind'a one dimensional and he was really terrible in the Waynamo but then everybody was really terrible in the Waynamo, must'a been Wayne's direction.

Though "It Do" says the death scene he shared with Chuck Roberson was directed by John Ford.

Anyway how's about that gargle Widmark does when the Mexicans stick him? And his Black servant throwing himself in front of the bayonets?!?!

I thought he'd been gone a looooong time....RIP, one of the greats...

Yeah that whole movie was kind of a mess. The set still exists and many people visit thinking it's the real thing. That fallacy somehow seems appropriate.

Yeah, but you know despite all the bunkum and bosh I enjoy the picture a great deal. And the Todd-AO image and sound were first-rate. And Carlos Arruza could sit a horse as well as Ben Johnson. The picture has a large cult.

Indeed I am. "Pick Up On South Street" brings back fond memories of a very young Widmark and Jean Peters and belongs to the era when Mickey Spillane ruled.

He was good in Murder on The Orient Express. RIP Sir.....

He was one of those actors,that when you saw him in the credits,you knew you were in good hands,and everything was gonna be ok.

In his prime years,very often when he was at a bar or tavern,complete strangers would come up to him to start a fight.He spent countless times trying to expain that he wasn't the tough guy often seen on the silver screen.
