I was on the treadmill burning off the winter fat and put on this movie. Got startled when in the beginning Ferris was setting up his stereo to play sound effects for his "illness". I never noticed the system before

I stopped the tape and the wife is looking at me and wondering what I was doing. Took a few pics. The movie is dated 1986. The amp looks like the M-500T I had in '86. Carver DTL-100 or something CD player. The equalizer looks like an ADC or Proton (sp?) unit. Is that a Carver CT-?? or something preamp there at the bottom? Couldn't make out anything else.

Really one of the great comedy movies from the 80s.

I'll have to watch it when I get a chance.

LOL!!! I just watched that DVD on Sunday with the kids. You got the amp and CD player right. I believe the bottom is a Carver "The Carver Receiver", and the EQ is AudioControl. I was a junior or senior in high school when FBDO came out, and Ferris was at least partially responsible for my early fascination with Carver gear, and EQs with an SA display.

Nice catch! Matthew Broderick had a serious PC + Modem setup in his role in War Games, too.

One of my favorite comedy movies of all time and I remember seeing it the day it came out plus noticing the stereo stuff back then. I wonder what speakers were in that room? You never see them that I can remember. Sloan (his GF) was a serious hottie.

And you all did notice my signature line came from that movie, right? :D

One of my all time favorite comedies... Can't believe they never made a sequel....

Mia Sara played Sloan Peterson.
