Tonight at 8 a new show will be starting based on the Terminator movies. This show is based in a time line after T2 where sarah and jon are on the run. Im a huge terminator fan. It will be ran on A channel and fox. Season premiere will be this evening.

I've setup my Tivo to record it. The previews looked good. I read they only have 8 episodes because of the writers strike.

I'm looking forward to it.

I'll be taping (yes, VHS) them to look at 'em when time permits.

Hadn't heard about it until I read this thread but I'll give it a watch.

Lena Heady who plays Sarah Connor doesn't look very promising in the preview. Linda Hamilton will be hard to match.

she may be no linda hamilton but she is far more conviincing than michelle ryan was as the bionic woman. I liked the start... look foward to seeing part 2 tomorrow.

So far, nicely done.

I thought it kicked some serious butt. A lot of action and the new Sarah is better than Linda Hamilton.

My daughter wanted to watch it because Summer Glau is in it, so I sat and watched with her. Summer was great, the new Sarah was great, the new John came across as a a wimp, the action scene jump cuts and shakey cam gave me a headache.

I wasn't impressed.

I'll have to check into this one!

Very hot in The Unit.

The pace and amount of action distracted from the awful cinematography and cornball plot. Plot seems to center on the struggle between the smokin' hot Sarah Connor and even smokiner Cameron terminator (who... I... can't... take... my... eyes... off...) for the affections of John Connor. Enough oedipal weirdness to sink a ship, but we'll see where it goes.

Well its not expected to be action packed due to budget size being considerably less then motion picture productions. So far i thought the show was decent. IMO this new sarah is jamless compared to linda hamiltons acting in T2. But i like most anything terminator so this has little affect on my impression of the show. Jon does seem sligtly emo, which also im not concerned about. All in all not a bad show for cable television.

Well...she does play a robot after all and I doubt many are really watching her acting anyway.

Watched the second episode. Much better. Looks like I will have something to watch Monday until 24 starts up again.

After the second episode...I've more or less lost interest. It really doesn't seem to be going anywhere and the new "Sarah Connor" bores the crap out of me. She just doesn't have the undertones of "I'm one step away from going INSANE and ripping your head off" that Linda Hamilton did.

Watched about 15 minutes and switched to 'Cops'.

I liked it a lot. There is a real risk of damaging the "Terminator" franchise so kudos to the people for the effort. Looking forward to next week.

I seriously get lost into the Terminator movies, but the TeeVee version just didn't grab me. I missed the first episode thinking it was Monday nite. Oh well. I've got patience. But like 'Lost' and '24', if you miss an episode you might as well forget about it. And I do that a lot!

The first movie was Sci-Fi at it's best. The following were just as good. Classic Sci-Fi without any doubt! No low blow intended!

The Sunday episode was good, the Monday episode was OK. It has potential, even if it doesn't have a big budget. They are going to have to have more variety to the action/fight scenes though. The previews for next week looked interesting. We'll see how it goes.

I enjoyed the first episode last night and will watch the second tonight. I thought 24 was cancelled for the season due to Kiefers off screen problems coupled with the writers strike?

I believe they managed to complete about half the season, but they wanted to hold back until they could complete the rest and run everything at once.

I've only caught one episode so far. I'm undecided at this point. I thought that it was decent, but not great. Its always diffcult to accept new actors in favorite roles, and this is no different. But I think that the acting will need to mature a bit if its going to survive past season 1 though.

I've only seen the first show, but tell me -- what Terminator repeatedly tries to kill someone by standing at a distance and shooting at them? And walking real slow while doing it? OK, later the T ran faster, but I really hate it when the villian does something that you know he wouldn't "really" do. In "real life", the T would have called roll in class while walking up and down the aisles, and when John raised his hand, the would have ended him -- and the series -- right there.

Hmm --- maybe that's why they wrote it the way they did....

I finally watched the second episode. While I'll keep recording it for the remainder of the eight episodes that have been taped, since there are no new shows to watch, I think it's just OK so far. The common theme between the two shows is continual fights between terminators. I hope the show has more to offer than that.

Anyways, the show's alright. I kind of zone out whenever Sarah Connor goes on one of her motherly monologues (and why's she angry about EVERYTHING? Termichickinator tells her she should have been smarter about hiding and she tells her to go to hell? How did that happen?)

I figure all the lame drama stuff got squeezed in as an attempt to appease the ladies being forced to watch it. The special effects have impressed me so far, and that's what I'm really watching for. The fact that I don't care much for the characters and that the good guys and the bad guys are constantly doing exactly the opposite of what they should and would do... hopefully that ends.

I'll continue watching for now.

I enjoyed last nights episode as well. I admit its not all fighting and fast paced, but they have to set up the characters.

I think the cop is gonna start seeing that hes in a little something bigger than what he thought and may even come to their side.

We see now that John feels held back by his mother and we find out that Sarah dosent have the balls to "kill" when its necessary.

The skin growing part was a bit far feched but hey it is science fiction.

Lets see what happens.

Now of what I understand of the Bionic Women, its not that it went off the air its just they are out of episodes. They will have to wait till the writers strike is over before it comes back on.
Maybe they producers can use this to their advantage. If they have read the reviews they can use this off time to change the way is going before it truly goes down hill.
I enjoyed the Bionic Women as well.

Lena Heady was the queen in 300. She was great in that movie and sexy too.
She does a good job in this series also.

Did anyone see Lena Heady on Letterman? Nice looking girl, but she had this really strange haircut that covered half her face.

Also, the Uncle is Brian Austin Green from 90210. He seems to have leveraged dating Hollywood's latest "It" girl, Megan Fox, into a bit of a career revival.

Back to the show - I am sold. It's going to get savaged when 24 comes back on though.

I think the last two episodes it improved a lot! I'm definitely looking forward to next week's episode.

I picked up the episode I missed on Fox On Demand dot com. Also missed the first episodes and will try to pick them up as well.

I hve to admit, the episodes have gotten considerably better.

You like little Summer Gue you should check out the series Firefly she's younger and kind of a Idiot Savant (the evil government played with her brain but she actually super smart) her's is a minor roll but nice to look at.

in one scene she is at the gate/airlock of the space ship when 3 guys are approaching (the evil crime boss's soldiers) and the mechanic gal can't bring her self to shoot them so Summer picks up her pistol and without looking does this ninja 3 shot thing with her hair covering her face so she doesn't see what she does and wastes all three.

tonight's episode had a few good moments. The Russian brother and sister scene was pretty chilling, and the "crazy" doc getting his come-uppance was right out of the Twilight Zone. Looking forward to next week!

I think the "protector terminator" chic is evil. She is protecting John but not for the reasons we think. I think the machines turn John to their side in the future. She was sent back to make sure that it plays out that way.

I don't understand why the other Terminator hasn't found John yet. I initially thought he and the protector chic were working together, but I'm not sure about that now. If he was sent back just to kill John why has he gone to so much trouble to look human again. I mean he's kill 3 or more people in the process. You think he could have found and killed John already.

There are a lot of things that need to get tied up next week. I'm sure they will leave it open for the potential of more episodes next season.

Cameron still has the chip from the Terminator that is programmed to kill Derek Reese. I have a feeling this will be used in the next episode to kill him off since its unlikely that John or Sarah will allow her to do it directly, or as a way to redirect the Terminator set on killing John.

I love this new show! followed it since it started. Im probably not alone when I hate all the comercials and the banners constantly on the screen.
on an hour long show we have 17 minutes of commericals. anymore you have to make a show an hour and a half long to get an hour out of it.

Tonight's finale was very good! The FBI raid scene was amazing and "The Man Comes Around" was used to great effect. I really hope it hets picked up for next season.

If the blast didn't cause her to reboot, (loosing 15 precious seconds) that guy walking away has a BIG surprise coming in just a few seconds..... a flaming apparition that is coming after HIM!!! :yikes: And considering the additions to her programmijng as she learns how to emulate humans.... she's gonna be P*$$#&.......:gigglemad

Now I wish I had taped it, I thought that the upshot of the last scene was that the dead guy was a stand-in for the big boss, and that they hadn't killed the boss, and the boss was cleaning up.... I think she would have done things differently if she had recognized another terminator.

I think that the series is quite good. Yes, its always hard to get used to knew actors playing well-established roles. But I think that this show is coming along very well so far, and has been getting gradually better with each episode.

I've often wondered about how exactly the Babenator is able to have a major role in this series when she is presently still an important character in the "4400" series. Consequently I think that the guess that a new actress will be playing the babenator is a good one, unfortunately.
