Hi: There is a Marconi TV-100 TV on e-bay #250199649670. It looks like a 10" GE locomotive in a wooden cabinet based on the chassis and Knobs. does anyone agree with me?

It DO look like a wooden "Locomotive"...Wouldn't mind having it, either, but shipping something like that to Tennessee ? Fuggeddaboutit.... wajobu 12-22-2007, 09:41 AM Pretty set. I just love how simple the design is. Very compact too! mattdavala 12-22-2007, 09:46 AM No doubt about it. Thats a GE locomotive chassis in the cabinet. kx250rider 12-22-2007, 11:00 AM Ditto: It's a GE. I bet it's a Canadian set! Charles electroking 12-31-2007, 10:58 AM Yes, definitely Canadian made. Just look at the tube placement diagram in the auction description and you can plainly see the name of the Canadian Marconi Company. They made TV sets very early on in Canadian history (possibly even before the beginning of TV broadcasting in September, 1952), and quit consumer electronics manufacture in 1966, after the company management decided they could not compete on the color TV marketplace. The company subsists to this day (mostly in avionics work) as CMC Electronics Inc. |
