Anybody else seen this? The best and most interesting movie I've seen in some time. :thmbsp:

I read the book when it first came out. i am a huge mccarthy fan, and have been for many years. i do not feel that this is his best book, but it nevertheless kept me on the edge of my seat for the day and a half it took me to read it. the coen brothers production is like they took the story as i saw it unfold in my head and filmed it. there were sections of uncanny similarity in the movie-- for instance, the way the shootout scene in the desert appeared below the ridge top as lewellyn moss first found it.

i thought the film was absolutely terrific. javier bardem as anton chighur was the most chilling, horrifying bad guys ever put on screen. just an unbelievable performance. as were they all. i can't say enough good things about it.

it will be interesting to see the film version of The Road, McCarthy's finest novel, in my opinion, seconded only by fractions by Blood Meridian. The Road was the 2006 Pulitzer Prize winner for fiction.

This was definitely the best movie by far that I've seen in the last couple of years. But it does require the viewer's utmost attention. It's also one of those movies that I'd like to see again because I walked away feeling that I might have missed a few things.

I'm a big McCarthy fan too, and I agree that the Coen brothers did the novel justice.

I also can't wait for The Road to come out.

On the other hand, I've heard a rumor that John Malkovich is going to play the Judge in the film version of Blood Meridian. I really hope my source is wrong on that one. Somehow I just can't picture it. . . .

I like what I'm hearing, I've been wanting to see this since I first heard about it a few months ago. So far I have been a big fan of everything I have seen from the Coen brothers.

It's on my must see list.
