I saw that too.... It isn't really for sale. I think what happened is that his wife told him to sell it, so he said "OK; I'll put it on eBay. Now leave me alone!"

Dave,

Just think about the bragging rights you'd have.:D

I'd even help you pick it up..... and shoehorn it in your place.

some people think they have gold . Funney thing but i see stuff on ebay all the time that is stuff that you commonly see, yet people list it are "extremly rare" . I think people just dont know what they have .I know what you mean , there is this antique store around here and he apperently has a RCA console with radio phono and TV . Im not sure what model but from his desription , it sounds like a 1950 , he is determined to get at least $ 700.00 bucks for it .
There is these consoles selling on ebay for around $ 100 or less , pick up only . some have 1 bid at 10 bucks starting bid when the auction closes .
never the less he still wants $ 700.00 , and says " IT'S WORKING" .
what alot of these antique dealers dont understand is when you attempt to opperate a 55 + year old TV , is that usually it wont run for long , untill a cap blows and some times taking a transformer with it . There seems to be alot of people that put a real value on a set that is working when the TV really still desperatelly need a recap and probably a few tubes
