Even comes with all the original paperwork, antenna hookup hardware, and it's said to be in working condition! Wotta chunk o'wood! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250182572523&ru=http://search.ebay.com:80/250182572523_W0QQ_trksidZm37QQfromZR40QQfviZ1 ChrisW6ATV 11-02-2007, 07:46 PM That is a beautiful piece of furniture. It makes me wonder if my Magnavox combo originally had that finish? There are pictures of mine in this topic: http://audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=132059 It appears to have the same chasses as mine. Dave A 11-02-2007, 08:00 PM Depending on the reserve, this thing is worth buying just as a piece of Drexel Furniture. The finish looks quite good and the TV/radio/phono would be a bonus to convince the spouse. If Mike is has taken note of it, it must be good. DaveA Sandy G 11-02-2007, 08:39 PM I'm in love... kbmuri 11-02-2007, 08:58 PM It's a CT-220 like my little set. I *almost* gave in and drove 600 miles to North Carolina for the last one that was on eBay, maybe a year ago. It went for I think around $500. Magnificent set, sure would like to find one around here. kx250rider 11-03-2007, 11:44 AM I've seen that model before, and it is a beauty. It's amazing that it's still in one piece. That's a set that may have been at highest risk for being gutted early in it's life and updated. I've seen several of those, and the nearly identical Capehart 500 series, which were gutted. I hope that one goes to a TV collector!!!!!!!! Charles John Folsom 11-03-2007, 09:50 PM That very set was up on ebay from the same seller in October of 2006, with a $3900 BIN. Wonder what is reserve is now? ChuckA 11-03-2007, 10:45 PM Not only is it a beautiful piece of furniture, my wife allowed this one to be out of the "collection room", but it has a fantastic audio system. The amplifier uses 4 6L6's in push-pull parallel for 45 watts output. That drives a 15" woofer and a multicell treble horn. The radio has 3 bands AM/SW/FM, 13 tubes, 10KC whistle filter for AM, and a dynamic noise suppressor for the 2 speed changer. The only thing better would be an RCA Berkshire Breakfront. (working on one of those) Chuck |
