I seen this phrase in a couple of posts and on Google it shows up a lot but I haven't found a definition. Is there a humorous story on how it got it's name? :scratch2: Logan

That's the main signal processing IC in a TV. It usually contains the IF, chroma, sync, horizontal and vertical drive, video, etc. all on a single IC chip.

Those little 5" cheapie sets I've been collecting use one of those.
I had to swap one out in a set that had no video but worked otherwise.

Of course, in a tube-powered tv, the whole chassis is a jungle ic. :D
