I'd walk in there with a couple hundred and see what you can take home! That motorola was featured in Art Margolis book: "The practical guide to television servicing" It has the tint control in addition to the hue control to change the color temperature. That's a fairly rare set too. drh4683 08-08-2007, 04:16 PM My grandparents had this exact same TV but it had the sliding front doors. Ive been keeping an eye open for one like it for years. Very rarely do motorola TV's show up. I think Ive found only 4 or 5 in the last 15 years. Is it me or does it look like a brightener got too hot and melted that CRT cap? radiotvnut 08-08-2007, 05:51 PM I had a table model Motorola when I was a kid with the same control layout as this console. Mine was in a beige metal cabinet and was given to me by a family member. The CRT was shot in my set and it wound up getting junked because I couldn't find a suitable good used tube & my Dad wanted it out of his way. Motorola sets don't show up often around here, either. I've probably seen 6 or 7 since the early '90's (compared to a zillion Zenith's & RCA's). |
