I see that I misspelled "MITSUBISHI" in the title after I submitted the post, no way to fix?... Oops!

I was at my friend's TV shop last night in West LA, and he was getting ready to send another load of TVs to the dump. I looked them over, and decided to take this Mitsubishi 26" table model CS-2670 digital set. I don't think it's of any collector interest, but you don't see these blue tube sets, and certainly not the "digital" version. It has an RGB socket on the back, and was probably the top-of-the-line in '87. So I hated to see it tossed.

It works fine, has a strong tube. It had already been repaired (999 new caps) according to Bob, who owns the shop. The TV owner never showed up to pay and take the set back. So, like several other recent "rescues," I have no idea what I'll do with it. But I'll play with it for awhile, and maybe put it up for adoption some time.

Really nice save. I had a 26incher from around 1986, not a digital one though. Had the blue-tinted face and a marvelous pix.

I would've saved it too, especially with all new caps (IMO, that was Mitsubishi's downfall around this time). Solid set, how's it look on RGB?

It looks like the RGB is digital only, so it would only work for CGA computer graphics.

I haven't fired it up yet... I'm anxious to see how it looks here with a good satellite signal.

I guess I brought a flu bug home with me from Alaska Sunday. So the Mitsubishi is still sitting in the back of the truck... Maybe tomorrow if I'm up to it, after I fix a plumbing problem (it all comes at once!)

I know this model well. It's the previous model of the CS-2671R. It was the top-of-the-line 26" tabletop model in 1986-1987 and retailed for at least $1,000 when new. "Digital" means picture-in-picture (PIP). The only difference between the CS-2670R and CS-2671R is that the CS-2670R does not have a S-Video input. I have a CS-2671R in mint condition, and it is currently in storage right now, waiting to see if it can be restored. It works fine, but the picture is a little greenish and the contrast doesn't go too high. Can this one be repaired? I know my CS-2671R probably worth more than ksx250rider's CS-2670R.

The S-Video is a plus.... But I think we're both stuck with boat anchors. At least for the next 20 years. But I think it's good to save these, as at some point they will all be gone otherwise.

The greenish hue is likely a weak CRT, but those aren't hard to find. As long as the mounting ears are the same, you can swap just about any 26" tube (except Sony.)
