Looks nice. I have one similar, but mine is from 73. Excellent picture on the horizontal solid state chassis sets. The one the seller has is a 1974 model and should have the rectangular chrome 4 button clicker. Known as the "SC600Z" remote control. Hopefully one of you guys in CA can go after this one!

I noticed that one yesterday, and it's in my watch column... It's a 25EC58Z, by the looks of the tuner. I wouldn't mind saving it, but as usual, no place to put it. That is probably the most well-built and reliable American TV ever made, and this one like all the other Zenith flat-chassis solid state sets, is still working. Palmdale/Lancaster is about 90 minutes from me up in the high desert.

I'm going up there to get it on Friday, if things work out. I'll have to put it in the barn for the time being, but it will be safe. I'll fire it up and post pics. I bet the tube is still 99%, and that if it has any problems at all, it will be a burnt G2 pot and a few leaky electrolytics in the vertical. It will also be interesting to see if it had the safety cap recall done on it in the early 80s. If not, I have a few kits left over. (that's the recall about the safety caps failing and sawing the neck off the CRT.) That chassis has 5 of the single section caps, not the 4-lead cap that they also recalled in the upright-chassis Chromacolors IIs.

We went up to the desert and picked this Zenith up on Monday.. Very nice young lady got it from her father, who was the original owner. It's pretty clean, and has never been serviced as far as I can see!!! Still has original modules, and the little blue push-ons are all still there on the module connectors. Original focus divider, tripler, and (EEK!) the original white ceramic safety caps. This is the last flat-chassis Chromacolor 25EC58.

Still no idea what I'm going to do with it, and it's still in the truck (chassis is in the bathroom.) I'll check it over, replace the safety caps, and stick it someplace until I figure out what to do with it.

I still haven't figured out what to do with this TV. It works fine, and the tube is still OK and hasnt' been rejuvenated (at least not by me.) It's in a building that we're going to demolish on June 21, so I guess I'll have to move it somewhere safe.

If anyone has any interest in this set, please eMail me at [email protected] . I'd like to recover $25 fuel cost from when I went up to the desert to rescue it, if possible. But that's 100% negotiable! I won't throw it out under any circumstances, but I already had one and don't need this one.

REALLY Wish I could, but we are on two different coasts. Would probably be more sensible to ship it across Europe to NY... :sigh:

And for 25 bucks in gas? Hell I'd give you more than that, I mean the set is in great shape. Someone snag this Zenith!
